I could get used to this

Emily and I made toast for breakfast this morning (which sounds insignificant, but in a country where toasters are few and far between, this is monumental)! Then we hit the beach for hours of white sand, clear water, the sound of waves, and absolute tranquility. Not quite like in Progreso where there's the constant fear of being dropped on by birds, or having to say yes to a vendor selling mangos, hammocks, or my name written on a piece of rice. So we soaked up some rays of sol then walked to the mini-mart for some small grocery things. Back to the hostel for a lunch of pasta and fruit!! We love using the kitchen here! We were covered in a layer at sand so we showered, threw on some dresses (to match the cute-look of all the natives and European visitors), and admired the sunset. WOW WOW WOW - Good work, God. Absolutely incredible as we watched the fiery sun sink through the Gulf water's horizon, amazing. Spent some time exploring the town - this island is full of interesting and unique places, then made our way to dinner at Zarabanda - recommended to us by the owners of the hostel, an authentic little place with the greatest service. They all came and greeted us, spent quite a bit of time chatting with us, and our waiter ran to fetch palms and made origami birds out of leaves on these little wands for us, haha!
